Aloha,
These last few months have brought many changes to all of our lives. Liz and I are well aware that you have been training extremely hard on your journey to The Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon start line, and we want to honor those efforts and commitment the best we can.
We would want nothing more than to get up in the wee hours of the morning to check that the cones are perfect for the flow of traffic to the start line, or make sure all of the portable toilets are open AND have toilet paper. Or to be at the start line while the music is thumping and feel everyone’s nervous energy and excitement as the conch shells sound signifying the start of the race. Then there is the finish line… full of smiles and relief, because whatever adventure you were on, you accomplished your goal. Our whole team is going to miss these in person this year, but we want to be with you every step of the way along your 2020 virtual adventure wherever you choose to participate.
We are planning to create a magical race experience for you in September, we promise. With the virtual option, you will be able to choose your own path, record your time, receive a race bib, finisher’s certificate and earn a fabulous swag bag of goodies in the mail including a logo’d race bag, logo’d performance t-shirt, slippah finisher’s medal as well as Kauai themed products from our sponsors like Kauai Coffee, Grand Hyatt Kauai and Wilcox Health. We also plan to offer Zoom training meetings, as well as clever social media giveaways. Click here for full details of the virtual experience.
Whether you are running for a charity, running to reach a personal goal, running to support Kauai, running because we have the best participants, volunteers, and spectators cheering you on, join us and “Stride for Kauai,” the run that Runners World recognized in 2019 as the marathon with the BEST VIBE!!
By supporting our race, you are helping our island community heal one stride at a time and helping to ensure we can all be together at the start line in 2021.
Warmest aloha, Jeff and Liz Sacchini
