Several sponsors made the event possible including: County of Kauai, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Kauai Visitors Bureau, Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, Kauai Coffee, Brennecke’s Beach Broiler, Nukumoi Surf Co., Wilcox Health, Kauai Heritage Properties, HMSA, Williams Construction, Cardno, Living Foods Gourmet Market and Cafe, Holo Holo Charters, Hokuala, Suite Paradise, Lawai Beach Resort, Koa Kea, Castle Hotels and Resorts, Tortilla Republic, Avis, The Shops at Kukui’ula, Hilton Hawaiian Village, KONG Radio and Poipu Beach Resort Association.
Other local businesses helped out at the start and finish lines including Hawaii Sport & Balance Center, Zero Waste Kauai and American Medical Response, as well as the Wilcox Hospital who donated supplies for the Medical Tent.
Over $7,000 was generously donated to numerous local non-profit groups volunteering for race day activities. Kalaheo Elementary School, Kapaa High School Cheerleaders and the Waimea High School Project Grad are just a few.
I also wanted to thank the sweet people along the route that handed out fruit and cooling sprays from hoses and cheered us on. It really was appreciated and meant a lot. Mahalo!
