Runners and walkers were treated to gorgeous blue skies at the 5th Annual Roots ‘n Shoots 5k fundraiser at National Tropical Botanical Gardens. Over 375 participants enjoyed spectacular views along the exclusive course as they meandered through the Allerton and McBryde Gardens.
Following the 5k, finishers enjoyed a breakfast goodies from Living Foods Market and Cafe, hydration by Kauai Coffee and Hawaii Volcanic Water, as well as a trip on the blender bike at the Hawaii Pacific Health booth.
The Kauai Marathon and Kauai Coffee awarded two scholarships to local, college-bound high school athletes for their submissions on the importance of running in their lives. Congratulations to Nicholas Bloss of Kapaa High School and Kane Casillas of Kauai High School! Good luck on your college adventures!
