Nukumoi Surf Co. was established in 1995 by Bob and Christine French. Christine saw a need for a core surf shop right in downtown Poipu. With the help of their daughter, Pro Surfer Rochelle Ballard, developed the concept for Nukumoi.
Nukumoi has always been a great place for young people to get their feet wet in a 1st time job. We teach them that customer service is #1 and it makes it a fun place to be. Who doesn’t like a place where it’s all about the beach and having fun!
We have everything you need for fun in the sun with a fabulous array of clothing, bikinis, boardshorts, rashguards, hats, sunglasses. A great selection of Surf Boards by local shapers Lance Ebert, Wil Scovel and Al Merrick boards. We also offer a huge collection of Body Boards, fins and leashes.
We offer Surf Lessons by Poipu Beach Surf School and Kauai Surf School and Surf into Yoga by Rochelle Ballard. We have tons of beach rentals and surfboard rentals at great prices. As our customers say “Thanks for Keeping it Real.”
Twenty-four years later and we are still having a blast! We have a great team of employees and managers including our daughter Kelly French, our son Kainoa French and Jason Brown who has been with us for at least 18 years.
